CRS Exchange in Ukraine

What is CRS Exchange?

The Common Reporting Standard (CRS) is a global standard for the automatic exchange of financial account information developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It aims to combat tax evasion by ensuring transparency in the financial sector.

Under the CRS, financial institutions are required to collect and report information about their clients’ financial accounts. This information is exchanged between countries participating in the CRS framework, including Ukraine, to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

What Information is Provided to Ukraine’s Tax Authorities?

As part of the CRS exchange, the following financial information is provided to the tax authorities in Ukraine:

1. Personal Details of Account Holders:
  – Full name, date of birth, place of birth.
  – Address and taxpayer identification number (TIN).

2. Financial Account Details:
  – Account balances as of the end of the reporting period.
  – Total income earned on the account, including interest, dividends, and other types of income.

3. Information on Account Transactions:
  – Details of proceeds from the sale of financial assets.
  – Any deposits or withdrawals above certain thresholds.

4. Entity Information:
  – For entities holding accounts, their controlling persons (beneficiaries) are also reported.

 Why Consult on CRS Exchange?

1. Compliance with Tax Laws:
A consultation helps ensure that individuals and businesses understand their reporting obligations under the CRS framework.

2. Avoiding Penalties:
Incorrect or incomplete reporting can lead to fines and other legal consequences. Professional guidance can mitigate such risks.

3. Tax Optimization:
A strategic approach to tax planning can help minimize liabilities while staying compliant with international standards.

4. Confidentiality Concerns:
Consulting experts ensures sensitive financial information is handled appropriately and in compliance with legal requirements.
