36 new countries entered the visa-free list, including Albania, Cambodia, China, India, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Romania, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan. Thus, the list of countries that are eligible for visa-free entry will increase from 57 to 93.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the issuance of visas on arrival to 31 countries, compared to 19 countries previously. Digital nomads will be able to obtain a five-year visa with a stay of up to 180 days, renewable for a further 180 days. Previously, they were entitled to two stays of 30 days each.
Thailand’s national economy is heavily dependent on visitation from other countries. Therefore, the authorities are looking for ways to keep guests in the country for as long as possible.
